Home Parent Guidelines

If your child is taking sessions in SuccessMaker courses at home, the following guidelines can help ensure your child’s success:

·        Provide an appropriate environment by minimizing distractions that might interfere with learning.

·        If your child asks you the answer to an exercise, rather than providing the correct answer, ask the child to do the following:

o       Use the resources within the course software (Glossary, Toolbox, and Help) to gain an understanding of the concept being presented.

o       Answer the exercise to the best of his or her ability. Many of the programs are designed to provide automatic tutorials when the student misses a predetermined number of exercises.

o       When the session has finished, explain the concepts presented to your child.

Acceptable Use Policy

To ensure the success of your students, we ask that you agree to the following guidelines:

·        Parents will monitor student performance and session times as determined by the school and parent. The current session time is set for 15 minutes. One session per evening is better than multiple sessions at one time.

·        Parents will be responsible for the care of the software CDs and will return any CDs to the school prior to moving or leaving the area for an extended time.

·        Parents will communicate via email any technical issues their child experiences with the use of SuccessMaker @ Home.  dayna.lykins@fayette.kyschools.us
